Michael brings a solid background in Oregon planning to the planning team at Satre Associates.

Michaels professional experience has focused on reviewing land use applications including subdivisions, planned unit developments, site and architectural reviews, conditional use permits, lot line adjustments, zone changes and plan amendments as well as providing general planning information to the public.

During his time with the City of Medford he worked to influence design decisions in order to reduce potentially adverse social and ecological impacts of development projects. Placing an emphasis on open and efficient communication, Mike worked to coordinate planning and development issues with developers, consultants and other city staff early in the land use review process.

Michael is committed to the principles of sustainable development, advocating economically sound and environmentally sensitive planning in all of his work.

In recent years, he has been active in the University of Oregon's Sustainable Business Symposium and the Ecological Design Center.

At Satre Associates, Mike is working on a variety of short and long range planning projects while providing current planning services for the City of Halsey.

Mike's skills also include proficient working knowledge of MS Office, Adobe PageMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, ESRI ArcView, ArcGis, SPSS and numerous other software applications.

Previous to his graduate studies Michael worked as a Special Projects Coordinator for Peninsula Habitat for Humanity. His work with Habitat for Humanity enhanced the success of single and multiunit affordable housing projects. In addition, Michael's background includes working as an experiential outdoor educator of grade school children and building wilderness trails in Oregon and Washington.
